Suardiaz Lines commissioned us to document the full refurbishment of the Asturias at Gibdock in Gibraltar, creating a visual record of the vessel’s journey from active service into dry dock and back again. Over the course of six weeks, we filmed the ship’s arrival and manoeuvre into dock, then continued to capture each key stage of the maintenance programme from both the air and the ground.

Safety is our priority
Filming inside a live dry dock required careful planning and strict adherence to Gibdock’s safety procedures. Before entering the worksite, our crew completed the required inductions and operated at all times in full PPE, including helmets, high-visibility clothing and safety footwear. Flight plans and on-ground camera movements were coordinated with yard supervisors and the Suardiaz team to avoid interfering with ongoing blasting, painting and heavy lifting operations.
All aerial work was carried out using high-spec drones and cameras suited to industrial environments, supported by spotters to maintain safe clearances from personnel, structures and lifting equipment. By combining disciplined on-site operation with considered editing, we delivered a detailed, visually engaging record of the Asturias and Mosel Ace refits, demonstrating our ability to work safely and effectively in complex maritime and shipyard settings.
